More new tanks...

In August 2004, I bought 3 glass tanks for breeding purposes. Apart from being cheap, I also think they should be easier to clean as they do not have nooks and corners as the ones with aluminum or plastic frame does.
Technical setup
I use an air powered small internal sponge filter for keeping the water clean. It was heated by a 25 W heater and the lighting was done by a home made lamp based on a small 8 W fluorescent tube from Harald Nyborg. I was never content with the lighting solution, mainly due to problems with condensation and an overall clumsy design of the lighting box. It is much easier to handle the lighting box on the 25 liter tanks, where as the box for a 45 liter tank becomes big, bulky and clumsy in my opinion. The light was controlled by the same weekly timer that controlled all the other tanks.
Interior
Being a breeding tank, I practically didn't have any decorations or such in the tank, if there were any it was dependent on the type of fish I tried breeding and therefore also changed accordingly.
Status
I sold this tank and bought one of the infamous 54 liter starting kits, mainly because I wanted a lamp with a better fit for the tank.

Comment | They look pretty good even though they do not have the aluminium frame. And they are cheap as well. | Tank size | 45 liter |
