I have bought 5 Champsochromis caeruleus fry. It is a very beautiful predator that also grows very large - in time and under the right conditions. When I bought them they were not that big, their mother released them on December 1st 2003, and the picture here was taken on May 20th 2004. The picture only show very little, but it is a long slender fish with a black bar running along the body.
They have grown well since I got them, but it will at least be another year before they will begin resembling the grown fish.

Length | 20-25 cm | Comment | Champsochromis caeruleus is a true predator that will chase it's prey through the water. Therefore it is not advisable to keep it with the smaller mbuna species, at least not if you want to keep your mbunas. |
